About Me

And all that was left was their smoking retainers...fantastic.Somewhere out there, there is someone depraved enough to find this exciting...how crippling to the soul is such knowledge. I'm Ashley, lover of literature, electronic music, sarcasm, wit, irony, and anything that makes me forget what embarrassing and awkward creatures we are.
You Are 100% Feminist
You are a total feminist. This doesn't mean you're a man hater (in fact, you may be a man).
You just think that men and women should be treated equally. It's a simple idea but somehow complicated for the world to put into action.

My Interests

I'm a sybarite. So, anything that stimulates the senses is in. I'm a distant intellectual...I have to be far away to be smart.

I'd like to meet:

Men not afraid of the banana hammock.

Music:

VNV Nation is the ATP of my soul. I listen to them everyday in lieu of religious doctrine. In fact, I mostly listen to electronica and I make no apologies for that. Other bands that fit the bill are - the Pet Shop Boys, Robbie Williams, Rob Dougan, DJ RiB, Ayria, Celldweller, God Module, Front Line Assembly, Front 242, Suicide Commando, Mylene Farmer, Depeche Mode, ATP, DJ Mystic, Delerium, Noise Unit, Covenant, Chemlab, Razed in Black, In Strict Confidence, IAMX, and DJ Keoki. I generally have a distaste for adolescent stick figure boys armed with guitars and tight clothing whining about the pile of misfortunes life has left at their door.

Movies:

Right now - reeling in the aftermath of Apolcalypto, Blood Diamond, The Fountain, and Fracture while trying to wipe the bitterness that is Spiderman 3 out of my mouth. I'm looking forward to some summer comedies, namely Evan Almighty (huge Steve Carrel fan, folks, right here) and Knocked Up. I'm anticipating some ridiculously nauseating independent dramas in the fall. I need something thought provoking to stimulate this banality.

Television:

I'm just waiting for Battlestar Gallactica and Lost seasons three to be released on DVD. Oh, and, because I'm unemployed and not in school, my self esteem has plummeted, and I've been watching "I Love New York" reruns, "Flavor of Love Girls", and "Flavor of Love". I need a mercy killing.

Books:

Summer reading list: Crime and Punishment - Fyodor Doestoevsky Parachutes and Kisses - Erica Jong, Don Quixote - Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra, Sula - Toni Morrison, Dante's Inferno - Giovanni Boccaccio, Their Eyes Were Watching God - Zora Neale Hurston, Letters From the Earth - Mark Twain

Heroes:

I think that true heroes are hard to identify. First and foremost, I would have to extol the virtuous character of my mother. She is a fantastic woman in complete control of her life. She is what I aspire to be: kind, intelligent, conscientious, and self-contained. I'm just a mess. And Patton Oswalt. He is the funniest man on this planet.
