I am here for Friends

About Me

I am the proud mother of two wonderful sons who are currently serving their country in the Marine Corps. I have two beautiful daughters-in-law, a grandson, and two granddaughters.I love to meet new people and get to know them. I grew up in the city, but I think I must be a country girl at heart. I love the wide open spaces where you can see beautiful sunrises, sunsets, and sit and look at the moon. I love to look at all the beautiful things that God created. I want to get back to the simple way of life that my grandparents lived. I was working on this goal before the recession hit and now it is more important to reach this goal. I want a small place with a yard for a vegetable and flower garden and a clothesline. I miss the enjoyment of being outdoors hanging the clothes on the line and the smell of the clothes when you bring them in. I want a screendoor where I don't have to rely on the air conditioner, but can open the doors and windows and feel the breeze and smell the fresh air. I want a screened-in porch with a porch swing where I can sit at night and be comfortable without the bugs getting me. LOL I want to learn to sew again so I can make gifts for friends, loved ones, people that are sick, and make my own clothes. I want to learn to can fruits and vegetables, quilt, crochet, and knit. These are things our ancestors relied on and we have missed out on for the future generations. I want to have skills that I can pass on to my grandchildren.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

I am looking for friends who have like interests and I am willing to be open minded, because I don't think all things are black or white. People who like to read, gardeners, Christians, people who love to go to garage sales, shabby chic lovers, people who want to make a difference, cowboys, intellectuals, people who like to laugh; just about anyone who has a clean myspace page. I would love to meet a man like Gus McCrae on "Lonesome Dove". He was a kind and gentle man that loved life. He had a sense of humor and a twinkle in his eye and even though he was an old man, he could make a woman feel special and loved.
