I'm a divorced man, but I make my alimony and child support payments thanks to my knack for always finding work. I live in a modest penthouse apartment off Sunset Blvd. near the center of Hollywood. Not far from the famous Chinese Theater, across the street from the old "club LOVE" on the street of dreams. I walk on those exhaust covered and tarnished stars everyday and it sickens me. You see I have to put up with investigating some pretty unscrupulous characters, to say the least. All I really want to do is find a nice air-conditioned lounge, with a few sweet girls to talk to and some relaxing tunes on a jukebox. It’s hard to find that kind of nirvana in my line of work. But one great thing about my life is the fact that I live in between two of the greatest places on earth...The House of the 7 Veils and Crazy Girls, oh so convenient when I seek shelter from the L.A. heat. Also, I'm just a short walk up Detroit to Hawthorne where I get my booze supply at little neighborhood store called Playboy liquors. The owner, an immigrant, hell aren't we all has lined the walls with autographed 8 by 10 inch pictures of all the pretty, fortunate and successful here in my city. Anyway, he remembers my smoke; pall malls, and is always quick with a light. Moments like that take me away from the stress of cleaning up these stinking streets after the scum that oozes through the cities pores and suffocatingly violates you like a felon in your sleep. I'm a Private Investigator my friend. My beat is Southern California, but I've been known to travel on occasion. I had an interesting case up in Salinas just last month.
