Damian Siqueiros

I was born in Tijuana, Mexico in 1980. I started my formal artistic formation in the year 2000, attending Universidad de Monterrey, though I didn’t start taking photos until the year 2002, when I won money in a school research contest, which would allowed me to buy my first digital camera. Regarding photography, make up, and stage design I consider my self as self taught, even though in 2004 I made a small course in Spain in EFTI Spain, and than a master degree in Mexico’s national University (UNAM), which was more focused in art History and theory. I..ve been lucky to won several contest and scholarships that have allowed me to support my artistic work and research. I’ve started exhibiting my work in galleries since 2003 in solo and group exhibits like the IX Premio Fundación Unicaja in 2007. My interest in fashion and publicity has allowed me to be published in Elle magazine and Vogue in a special project for Mercedes Benz, which were one of my dreams since I started taking photos. I’ve always has maintained a social view and perspective in my work and life. From 1998 to 2000 I worked in the diffusion of culture trough radio, and in a NGO to rise money for AIDS infected people. At the moment he is the recipient of a scholarship given by the Mexican and the French government to study in École National Superièure des Arts Decoratifs, in Paris. .. body { body body {
