Corey Johnson

I'm from Staunton, Virginia (home of the Statler Brothers). You can't say Staunton, Virginia(home of the Statler Brothers) with out saying home of the Statler Brothers, see I did it again. We are so proud of them and all their success because they made us feel like we were a part of it. Like so many others I grew up singing in church. I often say I slept at home but was raised in church. And to tell the truth as much time as we spent at church I did my share of sleeping there too. My musical preferences began to change when I heard Hank Williams Jr. sing "Ain't Misbehavin" in 1986 at the Grammy's. I thought that was the coolest singer I'd ever seen. Since then I slowly started moving more and more toward country artist because of the lyrics and stories in the songs. Since that time I've been a small time actor/model but once I discovered song writting I knew where I was headed. I was blessed to be a part of the musical "Lost Highway the Music & Legend of Hank Williams" at the Ryman Auditorium. Also a part of the show when it went to Canada. I played ''Teetot" the old blues singer that helped mold Hank. Since then I have basically been writing. I've recently realized I've been in my basement writing songs and have gotten out of singing and performing which I really love. So it's time to get back in the game and this is the first step. So that's the bookends to my music career with many stories and people that go in between.
