I can't honestly say that there is only one thing that makes My Chemical Romance my heroes. It's their work ethic and the way that they never give up. It's the way they relay their message; "It's okay to be messed up because there are five dudes just as messed up as you are." It's the way they save lives day after day with their music. It's the way that they acknowledge the fact that they're just men and they aren't perfect. It's the way that they put everything they've got into one performance. It's the way that they always try to do what is right. It's the way they overcame and overcome their problems. It's the way that they can relate. They are held in my highest respect and that is all they will ever get from me; my highest respect, nothing else will suffice.
The most admirable quality about these four men is their musical rebelliousness. You will never find them conforming to popular demand; they do as they please. Going into Pretty. Odd. they knew that they would lose some of their admirers. Did that stop them from writing amazing metaphorical lyrics? No. It has been a pleasure for me to unwrap layer after layer of genius lyrics looking for their true meaning. Who knew that our peers could right such poetry? It truly is an honor to have been able to see them live and witness them feeding music to the hungry crowd to stave off their hunger for 40 minutes. They let you know that just because change occurs around you, you are still entitled to be yourself and that you SHOULD be yourself.
