About Me

What do you get when you blend jazz, blues ragtime, swing and original music with washboards, washtubs, kazoos, jugs and various other sundry hardware? Nothing less than the strange concoction called the JUGGERNAUT JUG BAND.
With the release of 7 C.D’s, “Jugstaposition”, “Don’t Try This At Home”, “Perhaps You Don’t Recognize Us”, “Christmas Covers”, “As We Like It”, "Live Jug Band Jubilee", and newest release "You Mean We Get Paid For This?" plus their video “Juggernaut Follies”, more and more people will be “recognizing” them. Over the years, they have appeared with Leon Russell, Arlo Guthrie, John Hartford, Jonathan Edwards, Riders In the Sky, Bill Monroe, Doc Watson, Mary Chapin Carpenter and many others.
THE JUGGERNAUT JUG BAND, with founder Roscoe Goose (vocals, washboard, trumpet, cans, blues harp, bells , snare and jug) and original member The Amazing Mr. Fish, (vocals, walking bass, nose flute, washtub bass) have been performing since the mid 1960’s. The current lineup, adds Skip Tracer (vocals, guitar) and Smiley Habanero (vocals, guitar, mandolin ) While members of the band are accomplished musicians, “They don’t let virtuosity get in the way of having fun.” (Washington Post) Each performance is a challenge to the audience to have as much fun as the band. Don’t let their antics fool you though. Their exuberant music is the result of skillfully conceived arrangements and unique vocal harmonies. Recently they have played The Kentucky State Fair (7th yr.) Master Musicians Festival, Kent State Folk Festival, Great American Music Fest (Branson, MO) Blissfest-Cross Village, MI, Strawberry Folk Fest, Sacramento Jazz Jubilee, Las Vegas Jazz Festival, Millennium Center, B.C. Canada, Chautaugua Institution (NY), Tahoe Music Festival (NV), Musikfest (PA), OH Wesleyan, Urbana, Salem, Int’l, Roane St., Waynesburg, Univ. of WI & St. Lawrence Universities, appeared in “As you Like It” , Actors’Theatre, Louisville, KY, and was selected to showcase at PAE (Performing Arts Exchange) in Atlanta, GA and CAPACOA in CANADA. They have been selected for inclusion in the KY Arts Council Performing Arts Directory (6th yr.) and the UTAH Arts Council Out-of State Artists Touring Roster. MyGen Profile Generator

Band Members:

"The Amazing" Mr. Gill Fish

The man that is always left, he is never right. Covering all the basses for the Juggernauts, on acoustic bass, washtub, and singing all those low parts that rattle your rib-cage. Mr. Fish also plays a mean nose flut, kazoo, siren, horn, and any other implement of noise. (actually not a fish and according to female acquaintances, anything but amazing.)

Roscoe Goose

Brought to you by popular demand on the front drain washboard, trumpet, blues harp, snare, cowbell, woodblock, kazoo, nose flute, and any other item you can scub on, bang on, or smack. Roscoe is the undisputed lead vocalist of the band. Also plays First Jug. (usually gets slapped before getting chance to play Second Jug.)

Smiley Habenaro

"The self proclaimed hot-pepper eating champion of the world."
Hot guitarist from south of the border. And if you think his guitar playing is hot, just wait! Smiley also strikes a chord with the mandolin whenever they let him and fills in on vocals ifever they let him.

Last but not least?

Hey, hey it's me Skip T.

Skip Tracer

Newest and youngest member of the group. Known far and wide as the "Hillbilly Playboy" from Palmyra, MO., on guitar, mandolin, banjo and vocals.
