Cactus Jons

Alejados de todas las definiciones musicales que generalmente persiguen a las bandas en su nacimiento Cactus Jons se mostró desde sus inicios - agosto del año 98 - como una banda de rock puro; sin aditivos. Debido quizás a la forma de entender la música que posee el grupo su estilo llego a ser lo que es: Sub Rock o Rock subterráneo. El estilo musical creado por la banda fue influenciado claramente por toda la movida rockera de los años 90 además de otros muchos ingredientes anexos. Entre los años 1999 y 2003 la banda se presenta en vivo en los más variados lugares, incluida la ex discotheque Zoom del barrio bellavista, y se concentra en la composición de nuevos temas. Con un centenar de presentaciones en vivo a cuestas el grupo participa en el años 2000 en el concurso de “Semillero rock”, el cual culmina con dos videos en vivo que fueron transmitidos por el programa “El Galpón” de UCV televisión. A finales del año 2003 el grupo entra a grabar su primer registro profesional que se convertiría en le primer disco de la banda y que, por razones monetarias, no pudo terminarse. Mantuvimos la formación original (Francisco Aguayo: voz/Guitarra; David Salvatierra: Bajo y coros; Eduardo Quiroz: Batería) hasta finales del año 2002 cuando Eduardo decidió alejarse por motivos personales. Luego de una intensa búsqueda por un largo periodo de tiempo y de varios intentos fallidos logramos dar con el baterista ideal para el grupo, Alfonso Arévalo, quien ya tenía una variada y amplia experiencia musical. Desde la llegada de este nuevo integrante nos propusimos darle un nuevo aire, personalidad y estilo a la banda motivo por el cual cambiamos el nombre de "Chaka" a "Cactus Jons". Grabamos nuestro primer EP Profesional que lleva por nombre simplemente "EpE" en los estudios de UNIACC en Enero del 2006, el cual consta de 4 temas y tuvo la participación de Marcelo Mollinedo como ingeniero en sonido y productor del disco. Recientemente, y gracias a este trabajo, hemos resultado ganadores del concuros de Rock In Chile del cual pronto pondremos mas informacion. Debido a este y otros motivos Mr Ed ha vuelto a la banda como baterista... Alfonso paso a la guitarra... Esperamos sea para mejor. Las proyecciones del grupo ahora son mostrar nuestro trabajo en todos los lugares posibles, seguir presentándonos en vivo, Grabar nuestro primer LP o disco completo y lograr consolidarnos dentro del medio independiente nacional.
(English Version)Moved away of all the musical definitions that generally persecute to the bands in their birth Cactus Jons it showed from its beginnings - August of year 98 - like a band of pure rock; without additives. Had perhaps to the form to understand the music that has the group its style I get to be what is: Sub Rock or underground Rock. The musical style created by the band was influenced clearly by all the rocker moved of the 90's in addition to other many annexed ingredients. Between years 1999 and the 2003 the band appears live in the most varied places, including ex- discotheque Zoom lens of the bellavista district, and it is concentrated in the composition of new songs. With a hundred of live presentations to hills the group participates in 2000 in the "Semillero Rock" contest, which culminates with two live videos that were transmitted by the program "El galpon" of UCV television. After an intense search by a long period of time and several insolvent attempts we managed to give with the ideal drummer for the group, Alfonso Arevalo, who already had one varied and ample musical experience. From the arrival of this new member we seted out to give a new air, personality and style him to the band, reason by which we changed the name of "Chaka" to "Cactus Jons". We recorded our first Professional EP that takes simply by name "EpE" in the studies of UNIACC in January of the 2006, which he consists of 4 songs and he had the participation of Marcelo Mollinedo as sound engineer and producer. Recently, and thanks to this work, we have been winning the "Rock In Chile" contest of which soon we will put more information. Due to this and other reasons Mr Ed it has returned to the band like drummer... Alfonso passage to the guitar... We hoped is for better. The projections of the group now are to show our work in all the possible places, to continue presenting/displaying live to us, To record our first LP or complete disc and to manage to consolidate to us within national independent Rock Circuit.
