Formed in January of 2005, Exit Wound quickly became a popular fixture in the Oklahoma metal scene. When long-time friends Danny McHenry, a vocalist with a voice more fierce than that of a wild animal, and Brent McCullough, a guitarist with relentless ability to shred, came to meet for the first time with Daniel Peppler, another guitarist with amazing dexterity on the fretboard, and Austin Vesely, a drummer with a skull-crushing ability on the skins, they had no idea what was in store for them as a band.
The four founding members immediately began writing relentless metal songs, each with more ability and technicality than the next.
A few months later, Jedd Pickens, a bassist with a driving bass sound and an insane stage presence, joined the band to complete the line-up.
With a sound comprised of extreme influences ranging from Lamb of God to Unearth, Killswitch Engage to Chimaira, the band brought with them a very unique and hard core edge to the Oklahoma music scene. Their arsenal includes sounds ranging from fast-paced onslaughts such as Deviance and God Complex to melodic masterpieces like One Day to driving, heavy tunes like Without Guns and Six Deep. The band's sound is unlike any other, with every song sounding different from the next.
The band's intense live show captivated audiences from the very beginning. Pouring out all their energy into their performance, the band aims to deliver everytime. Their first show took place in June 2005, with big name local acts such as Cynical Theory, Disjointed, and Severence. By their 6th show, they were opening for national acts such as Cryptopsy, Despised Icon, God Forbid, and Mnemic.
Still constantly writing music, the band is working on material that will hopefully form their debut album. They plan on continuing their music career to the top, fueled by their love of the music and the fans.
