JACK SPRATT

About Me

Where did Hip Hop go? When will it return? And, who will be responsible for its resurrection? In today's urban culture, everyone wants to be a rapper. Thus, it has become extremely difficult to separate the counterfeits from the authentic. Jackyron Newman (a.k.a. Jack Spratt) is that voice that so many true hip hop fans have been patiently waiting for. Born and raised in the flavorful funnels of the Westbank of New Orleans, Jack Spratt stands as the undiscovered diamond of the southern hip hop scene. However, it wasn't until the summer of 2003 that Jackyron discovered his uncanny ability to "lace tracks". Through the influence of Jay Electronica, a close friend, he began writing verses and formulating hooks which are simply unforgettable. In a profession where vulgarity and explicitness have become commonplace, Jack Spratt brings a breath of fresh air to hip hop fans of all ages. His ability to chronicle life's innermost intricacies without the use of profanity definitively distinguishes Jack as far more than just an artist, but as the leader of a powerful musical movement. The most exciting aspect of his astonishing arsenal, however, is his electrifying stage presence. Jack Spratt is much more than a performer; He is a sheer entertainer. With spine-tingling acapellas and creative live renditions, Jack is undoubtedly set to captivate audiences around the world with his energetic and highly charged shows. Jack says, "When I’m on stage performing a song, my emotion usually reverts back to the emotion that I had when I was writing the song. That's my secret. It’s all real."Well-seasoned with the diligent hustle and work ethic of the southern hip hop scene, Jack Spratt is finally poised to independently release his highly anticipated debut, "The Dummy Album," conceptually meaning a test or trial album. Straight out of the trunk, he readies his region, by way of concerts, promotions, and television appearances, for the mass merchandizing of his music. Jack Spratt’s music is a direct cross section of his everyday life. For the young man who survived the violent streets of the Crescent City, received a B.A. in Mass Communications, and managed to teach Sunday school in his church, being multi-faceted is, simply, his niche. Be it musically or realistically, this blue collar worker appeals to so many because he has experienced so much.Jack’s repertoire boasts a wide array of bouncy genres that will certainly groove you from the street corner, to the dance floor, to the church pew, and straight onto your living room couch. With heavy 808 bangers like "Welfare Pimpin," a comical testimonial of the financial woes of a working class man, Jack Spratt masters his mix of delivery, creativity, and charisma. Also, On tracks such as "Raw & Uncut,"Time 2 Git Paid," and "White Clam," Jack’s sincere outlook, rhythmic flow, and clever word play seem to leave him destined to etch a mark in hip hop history. Finally, The Wait Is Over!!!
