Welcome to my MySpace page! I guess this is the part where I'm supposed to tell you a little about myself. I would first like to mention that I found it a bit off-putting to address myself in the third person for this section, so I have opted not to acquiesce to this standard in MySpace bio's. I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Jazz Saxophone from Shenandoah University in Virginia(2005), and I just received a Master's Degree from Florida International University in Miami. It was with the big band at FIU that I received an outstanding soloist award this April at the Monterey Jazz "Next Generation Festival". I have had some great performance opportunities over the past few years, from playing in the St. Louis Jazz Festival in Senegal, Africa(2003), to sharing the stage with jazz greats such as Bob Mintzer, Duffy Jackson, Arturo Sandoval, and Jim Snidero. I was also a member of 2008's Sisters in Jazz, and performed with the amazing quintet at this past January's LAST IAJE conference in Tornto. I performed again with this group at the Kennedy Center this May for the Mary Lou Williams Women in Jazz Festival.
