Triggerslip was officially formed in Coral Springs, FL in the year of 1999. Combating school and sports, four teenagers set their priorities aside to fulfill their lifetime passion of starting an explosively heavy and melodically catchy rock band. Zach Lenz, (24), and his brother Logan Lenz, (21), grew up playing original music in their family garage. It wasn't too far in the future when they found out that family friend Brandon Singer, (21), was trying to start a band of his own. The connection proved to be instant with the threesome. A few weeks later the incomplete band came across bassist Mike Starkman, (24), and Triggerslip was born.
The band perfected a solid lineup of songs before they decided to enter the studio in 2001. Throughout three full days worth of hard work, the band's first demo was completed. The band decided to hit the streets and their schools with nothing but promotion on their minds. The hours spent passing out demos proved to be worth it, after receiving a surprisingly overwhelming response to their first recording. The band fed off of their early fan bases energy by playing a ton of local shows and getting their name out in the south Florida music scene.
After continuous rehearsals and the addition of more and more songs, the band decided to hit the studio again and record a low-budget EP in early 2003. Much to their surprise, they found themselves recording their EP with the engineering support of Chris Carrol (Collective Soul, Creeds My Own Prison). The band perfected six ear-catching songs and began promoting their newly recorded self-titled disc. The EP sold over 2,500 copies in south Florida alone and proved to be a turning point in the bands overall success.
Triggerslip continue to play anywhere from 3 to 4 shows a month and maintain their image as one of the best live acts in all of Florida. Entertainment World has coined the band "The next big thing to come out of Florida." The band does not have any plans of slowing down and are excited to continue their journey to the top as they expand and grow as musicians. Triggerslip's debut full-length album "Bullets and Broken Promises" is due out late summer of 2007.
