It’s not often you discover an artist with the 3 S’s for success..Songs,Singing and Serious musicianship… there are few more gifted acoustic players around today. Once you let yourself be charmed by his music, you’re hooked.â€
(Chris West co-producer of Richard Ashcroft’s ‘Keys to the World’)From the coast where he lives to the mountains he climbs and the lakes that he loves to be on, Adrian Nation has a unique view of the world and a rare ability to distil that view into the songs he writes and performs to a loyal and increasing fanbase.
It was whilst performing solo to a festival crowd of some 8000 people that Adrian first caught the attention of Chris West (co-producer of Richard Ashcroft’s ‘Keys to the World’.)Impressed with the quality of Adrian’s songs and his ability to captivate a large crowd, Chris West approached Adrian and plans were soon underway to record a follow up to his debut album ‘Sowing Seeds’, this time with Chris as producer.A remarkable list of musicians became involved in the recording of the 11 new songs including drummer Gerry Conway (Fairport Convention, Jethro Tull) , on bass Brad Lang (ABC, Barbara Dickson) and one of Adrian’s heroes legendary Canadian guitarist Colin Linden (Emmylou Harris, Bruce Cockburn)

Those 11 songs have become ‘Fall or Fly’, a wonderfully warm and balanced album on which Status Quo’s producer and Judie Tzuke’s songwriting partner Mike Paxman comments…“distinctive voice and guitar is backed by sensitive playing and a colourful, dynamic production. The result is a collection of songs you cannot get out of your headâ€He goes on to say “as soon as you hear the first few bars of ‘Don’t Turn Away’ you know you are in the company of a great songwriter…………the beautiful and evocative ‘Song to Maria’ is one of the best songs I’ve heard for yearsâ€The April 2008 edition of Maverick Magazine reviewing the four track EP of the as yet unreleased ‘Fall or Fly’ used the words “infectious, rhythmic and upliftingâ€But it’s not just Adrian’s recorded work that is receiving acclaim because it is in the live setting that the spirit of his songs come right to the fore. It was one such performance that prompted a BBC reviewer to write “Adrian combined his magic on the acoustic guitar with equally adept vocal skills to produce a set that had the crowd hanging on his every word.â€www.adriannation.comFor all bookings and enquiries contact
