I was born in 1974 in Brescia, Italy. I play electric bass and double-bass. I taught myself to play bass; in 2004 I attended Summer Masterclasses in Siena, studying with Paolino dalla Porta, Piero Leveratto, Marco Tamburini and Claudio Corvini.
I’ve been playing for more than ten years in many blues, funk and jazz groups.
In 2000 I joined the Spiral Trio (with Filippo Pardini and Beppe Gioacchini), and the group worked with dancer and choreographer Marina Rossi, playing original compositions. In the summer of 2002 we played in the S. Pietro in Lucone jazz festival (Lake Garda, Italy).
In summer 2004 I played two concerts in the “Jazz on the Road†festival (Brescia, Italy). The program included musicians such as Emanuele Cisi, Luigi Bonafede, Barbara Casini, Sandro Gibellini.
In the same year I started a trio with Dan Kinzelman on tenor saxophone and Emanuele Maniscalco on drums.
I’ve been playing and touring for four years with a blues band called “Granny Says†(with Enrico Sauda, Simone Boffa and Arki Buelli). This band opened for many blues stars: Robben Ford, Scott Finch, Sugar Blue, Paolo Bonfanti, Jono Manson and John Popper (Blues Traveler).
In 2006 I joined the Emanuele Maniscalco quartet. We played in several festivals, including “Young Jazz in Town†2006 in Foligno (Italy).
In the same year I joined the Dan Kinzelman Quartet, with Federico Scettri (drums) and Gabrio Baldacci (guitar) and a quintet called “Vanity Press†with Giovanni Guidi, Francesco Bigoni, Federico Scettri and Gabrio Baldacci.
Other projects are: Uncertain Quartet (with Federico Squassabia, Nicola Bardini, Max Sorrentini) – ChantSong Orchestra (www.chantsong.com) - the marvelous Funkazzisti (www.funkazzisti.net) - and the dixieland band led by Toni Micori.
