RANKUN

Rankun was born in Barcelona, knowing the electronic scene of his natal city. At the end of the 90's it's when the artists musical influence rises, beign seduced by the electronical music of UK, Detroit's Techno, with influences of Funk and Electro.
This makes Rankun start cashing in his first decks, and beign interested in Thomas Brinkmann, Richie Hawtin, and the elegant minimal of Steve Bug, G-Man, Pantytec, and many more renown artists. From then until 2004 Rankun have been improving his skills with decks, using Final Scratch platform too, playing in meetings his first level amateur productions.
In 2004 begins producing, getting to met Javier Orduña, more than a motivation, to continue forward with his musical career, giving birth to the project "RUBRIK Productions", with many live performances in several Barcelona clubs and organizing some festivals in the scene of electronic music all along the province of Barcelona. The aim of the show is probably a different vision from live meetings, including the musical computer science using several platforms and sharing cabin with live's computer.
This way Rankun not only is another dj, also when producing his influences are clear after renowned and not so famous artists, and the dynamism given in many dj or live sets at the moment of producing using computer sequencers and virtual synthesizers. 2006 is a new stage for Rankun in electronic music, creating the Barcelona record label called "Rubrik Records" together with Javier Orduña. A platform dedicated to publish creations not only of artists of renown, but giving opportunity to new talents in the national and international electronic scene like Nègat and Rankun.
This way Rankun publishes his first track as the first reference of his own label, reference shared with Javier Orduña, Mark Broom and Nègat.
