Rocky Marquette is an American film actor most known for his roles in independent horror films, especially that of "The Boy" in 2004's Shallow Ground.
He has appeared in twelve films and in commercials and television programs and has leading roles in 1968: Tunnel Rats, Shallow Ground, Mortuary, and Triloquist. He has acted opposite actors such as Minnie Driver, Jeremy Renner, Michael Angarano, Andy Dick, Dan Byrd, Rosanna Arquette, Denise Crosby, Patty McCormack, and John Savage.
Early life and career
Marquette was born in Fremont, Michigan and raised in Muskegon, Michigan. He decided he wanted to become an actor after watching the soap opera All My Children with his grandmother during the summer days in Michigan. In 1987, Marquette gave his first performance with a puppet show that was part of his aunt's college class project. He spent a lot of time on the shores of Lake Michigan, but also wrote about moving to California and becoming an actor.
In High School, he was a high school drum major in the marching band. At eighteen, he won the Shakespeare Scholarship to Grand Valley State University.
After college, he moved to Los Angeles to take on his dream. He signed with Robert Abrams of Equinox Talent and within a few weeks landed his first of four national commercials. He was then introduced to Frederick Levy, who would become his manager. He landed his first role in the independent film Iowa. Soon after Marquette landed his breakout role in Shallow Ground.
After Shallow Ground, Marquette took on supporting roles in the independent films Anderson's Cross and Guy In Row Five. He booked leading roles in Tobe Hooper's 2006 film Mortuary and Mark Jones's 2007 film Triloquist in what has been described by independent horror films as a "horror trifecta". He also had a role as a troubled teen in Bondage starring Michael Angarano. Marquette landed a supporting role in the film Take starring Minnie Driver. He has a role in the upcoming film 1968: Tunnel Rats, a role he says he is proud of due to his father's military service in Vietnam.
He is one of Hollywood's young rising stars. Unstoppable!
