About Me

Currently living, working and (trying to)studying in Beijing, China. My new blogspot is at:
www.jrsam.blogspot.com/
I keep my blospot really up-to-date on my travels. As of today I've been on three major trips through China.
The first was during May week of 2006. It was with about 14 other foreign students(mostly classmates, friends of friends, etc). Started with a train trip from beijing to Hefei in Anhui province. Climbed Huang Shan Mountain. Then traveled by bus through Hangzhou, Suzhou and onto Shanghai. We went on a chinese tour so of course we had to go through the markets where they really pressure you to buy things.
The second major trip throughout China was during the summer break of 2006. I traveled alone for 3 weeks beginning from Beijing moving in a southernly fashion. The entire trip was taken by train. First went to the coastal city of Qingdao for a few days, then to Tai Shan Mountain in Shandong province, then to Nanjing where I stayed there for about a week. While in Nanjing I was able to visit Dr. Sun Yet San's Mausoleum and other Chinese museums. I also got really sick thus staying at the hotel until I felt better to travel on my own. After leaving Nanjing I took the 32 hour train to Guangzhou in Guangdong Province. From Guangzhou I booked a bus ticket to get to the border of China and Macau. Then stayed in Macau for one week.
The third major trip was during the month of December 2006 where I went to Macau and Hong Kong.
The This is such a different country than any other country that I have ever been to! If you ever been here, you would agree. I can really say this is a eye opening experience. You will understand if you read the blog.

I will still be checking this account, so drop me a line and keep in touch!!!
I now have a different outlook in life. And recently I realized that life is worth way too much to stress out about the small things in life. I love to travel.
So my thoughts now are to live each day to the fullest, love the people around you, and love your family because you never know when it can end.
I try to live by the motto of going after something that you really care for and want.
