my name is sarena hackenmiller
and i live in anchorage alaska. i am currently going to UAA for who knows what major. this site includes my photography, and my personal site is the first link on my top 4. please enjoy my work! i am constantly learning and loving it. i feel there will never be an end to the exploration of knowledge of photography. i also snowboard and i very much enjoy music. i respect photographers everywhere and only aspire to get better while developing and keeping a style of my own!
ive come to understand that my friends are the main source of my photographs. maybe its because im shy, or maybe its because i know them and i want to portray them. so this summer i will be shooting people and getting their stories. my friends, new friends, and people i find interesting. it is my goal this summer to have a shoot on each of my friends and work really hard on it. look forward to that!to me, photography is a way to capture any moment you would like and getting that infinite feeling from it days, months, years later. it is about taking something that is there but will never occur perfectly the same again, snapping it shut inside a frame, and having it there forever. a photograph has the power to defy social norms and places a viewer on a different level of thought. it is art, or it is not. photography is whatever your soul sees, and that is why i will never put down a camera. please enjoy the world as i see it through a lens. :)
