About Me

I've had my publicist draft a statement about me. It reads, "In a classic style reminiscent of Sir Lancelot, Carey Grant, and Gilligan, Jim truly defies his era. In an age of boy bands, reality tv and a government gone mad, Jim's not afraid to keep it real and just have some drinks with friends. Or strangers. Or whoever he happens to be wandering past in a fit of ADD. Can he be trusted? Sure. Can he be fun? But of course. Can he be seated in the same place for over ten minutes? I wouldn't count on it."Valencia Stage Manager Video...Valencia Behind the Scenes...The spot that got us to Cannes...Old school... /param

My Interests

Movies, sports, art and design, books, advertising, music, the Enzian, crazy cool science stuff, politics, downtown Orlando, UCF, and I've been known to enjoy a beverage from time to time. As I read this, I realize that I'm a huge geek.

I'd like to meet:

Albert Einstein, Charlie Kaufman, Wes Anderson, Will Ferrell, the Coen Brothers, Garrison Keillor, Jim Carrey, Stephen Colbert, Jon Stewart, Conan O'Brien, the Dude, oh yeah, and I wanna party in old Vegas with the guys from the Rat Pack. But since a few of these people are either dead or fictional, I'd like to meet you. Especially if you're witty, funny and interesting, you like really cool stuff and you're creative.

Music:

Oh, how do I even answer this? Such an odd blend of stuff. Frank Sinatra, The Shins, Beck, Dean Martin, Jack Johnson, Norah Jones, Billie Holiday, Elliott Smith, Ryan Adams, Coldplay, Fun Motown Stuff like Marvin Gaye and Stevie Wonder, John Mayer, Bruce Springsteen, The Beatles, Ben Folds, Badly Drawn Boy, They Might Be Giants, The Soundtrack to Garden State, Jay Z, Jazz, Blues, Reggae and Hip Hop

Movies:

Jeez I like movies, but too many to even count. Hmmm, here's an eclectic mix of my favorites: The Royal Tenenbaums, Amelie, Swingers, Good Will Hunting, The Big Lebowski, Old School, Napoleon Dynamite, Garden State, American Beauty, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Adaptation, Casablanca, Fight Club, Forrest Gump, Million Dollar Baby, Whale Rider, A Mighty Wind, Anchorman, Bottle Rocket, Memento, A Beautiful Mind, Seven, Snatch, The Usual Suspects, Made, Hotel Rwanda, Old School, The Man Who Knew Too Little, Lost in Translation, Rushmore, Best in Show, Almost Famous, Big Fish, Comedian, O Brother Where Art Thou, A Very Long Engagement, Finding Neverland and so on. I love docs, foreign and independent stuff too.

Television:

I don't watch a whole lot of TV, but Arrested Development is awesome. Get the DVDs. The Daily Show is genius. Chappelle's Show, old SNL, and gems like Aqua Teen Hunger Force and the Joy of Painiting with Bob Ross (rest his soul) make this invention more than worthwhile.

Books:

Anything by Garrison Keillor, David Sedaris, Augusten Burroughs, Bill Bryson, Chuck Palaniuk. Hey Whipple Squeeze This!, A New Brand World, The Great Gatsby, A Moveable Feast, To Have and Have Not, What's the Matter with Kansas, Also, I love reading the New Yorker, Wired, Inc, Fast Company and the Atlantic

Heroes:

Pee Wee Herman
