Solemn Promise are a Metal/Post-Hardcore/Rock band from Bedfordshire, UK.
In a music scene where superficiality of varying degrees is so prevalent, whether its bands who exist solely to impress their friends, bands that will disown their roots to follow a succesful trend, or bands whose members are more concerned with appearing in celebrity magazines than writing good songs, there is always a need for bands that concentrate on doing what bands are meant to do - write, record and play good music.
Since 2005 Solemn Promise have been working on writing a strong repertoire of songs, improving their live performance and carving out their own niche within their local scene. Specialising in Post-Hardcore Rock, the band are ready to prove their worth and make people sit up and listen.
As of September 2007 the band are only active for short periods of time during the year due to University commitments. Earlier in the year the band have achieved great success, having played shows all over Herts, Beds, Bucks, Northants and High Wycombe, recorded the majority of their debut EP, and gained record label interest. The band plan to complete and release their EP in late 07/Early 08 and play as many shows as possible in support of it during Summer 08.
To quote one of the Band's musical heroes:
