Some say talent is acquired throughout the course of your life, but in the case of Young Genius, you can tell that he has a natural God given ability for music. After living in NJ the first 5 years of his life, he then was moved down to Houston, Texas. There he witnessed great musicians such as his father Jeff on drums, and his uncle Chester on Bass, perfect their craft. When he was 13 they moved back to NJ and soon after it was Jeff Jr.'s (Young Genius) turn to step up to the plate. He began making music in the basement of his home in Buena, NJ and eventually everyone surrounding started to realize his gift for music production. At the age of 15 he produced a track called "Joyride" in which it caught the eye of the legendary pop diva Mariah Carey. She selected the record to be on her comeback album, the Emancipation of MiMi. Since then Jeffery has been waiting in the shadows perfecting his craft as a music producer, and is not showing any signs of slowing down. He has long been recognized by some of the major heavyhitters in the business today such as Rodney Jerkins, Brian Cox, and EMI's VP Big Jon.
