Science and romantic fiction, horses and dogs, people (from afar).

Oh my, I can't list all that I like! Steel Beach by John Varley (out of print now, so don't ask to borrow my autographed hard copy!); Gordon Dickson's Childe Cycle (aka the Dorsai series) , unfinished though it be; Asimov's Foundation Trilogy , of course; Left Hand of Darkness by Ursula K. Le Guin; anything by Sheri Tepper (or by John Varley , for that matter). The more fanciful fiction would run along the line of Little Fuzzy by H. Beam Piper ; Riddle-master of Hed by Patricia A. Mckillip; most of Mercedes Lackey novels.
