""Don't ever ask Mr. Yuengling to pour your beer! He hates that!"" In 1913, Frank D. Yuengling constructed a Tudor-
Jacobethan style mansion for his family. Today, this historical family homestead has become Schuylkill County’s Council for the Arts-the heart of art and culture in the community.Because of Schuylkill County’s rich ethnic heritage, its tradition of fine artists and artisans, and a long record of involved volunteerism, we posses a unique opportunity to initiate innovative programming in the arts. The first floor of the Carriage House serves as a pottery studio for students and professional artists. The third and basement floors serve as painting, printmaking and drawing studios. The surrounding 2 acres of grounds and gardens offers a beautiful backdrop for en plein aire art classes.
