The will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you.
"To laugh often and much, to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children, to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends, to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others, to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch...to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived...this is to have succeeded."

I am originally from Virginia Beach, VA, and moved to Las Vegas in March '02. If I had to describe myself using one word, it would be "real." I am very outspoken and always tell it like it is. If you don't want a truthful answer, then, please, don't ask me any questions. Simple as that. I have a great, although very sarcastic, sense of humor and have been called a smartass on more than one occasion...maybe even more than two...so either put your big boy/girl panties on and deal, or kindly see your way out. I am also very social and outgoing, and I love people, but I am unwilling to compromise my beliefs and values for anyone.I am not afraid to stand alone when it comes to representing and/or defending my position on anything, which is a good thing, because I am often in that position. I know exactly who I am and what I stand for, and nothing can change that. The world is too full of people who do not have the strength of character to stand up for what they believe.
I love making new friends, but I do not have time for people who base their opinions and beliefs on the majority's so as not to create any waves or because they are desperate to be liked. Patterning your life around the opinions of others is nothing more than a form of slavery. Nor do I have time for people who have not yet learned how to be a friend and, unfortunately, there seem to be a LOT of these people out there.I have always been very athletic and lettered in many different sports in school, but my passion was swimming. I trained for the 1980 Olympics in swimming, but our country's participation in the games that year was boycotted by president Carter. I have two Bachelor of Arts degrees....one in Marketing and Public Speaking from George Mason University and one in Education from Old Dominion University. I used to be a high school English teacher but found that I couldn't continue because I have a bad habit of wanting to be able to pay my bills!
My kids are the most important thing in the world to me, and I find that they are the best teachers of all! From them I have learned that even after enduring more than anyone should ever have to, there is always hope in the future. They have also taught me the meaning of unconditional love.I am very spiritual, and my belief in God is unwavering. There seem to be many people out there who are of the opinion that if one does not attend church, one cannot maintain spirituality. These people need to know that going to church does not make you a Christian any more than standing in your garage makes you a car.The most important thing I have ever learned is that God does not give you more than you can handle. I have had to draw on that fact many times, especially when dealing with my very recent divorce. It has been extremely challenging for me to forgive those in my life who have betrayed and hurt me so deeply, but with God's help, I am getting better at it every day.I have a very strong work ethic, which is balanced by an equally strong play ethic. While I am not necessarily looking for a relationship, I do like meeting guys who are confident, but NOT arrogant, kind, but NOT weak, spontaneous, but NOT impetuous, and intelligent with a great sense of humor. A man who's IQ permits him to exist outside the realm of Sportscenter and his game system is a sexy man indeed! Beautiful eyes and a nice smile don't hurt my feelings either!I prefer the friendship of a man over a woman because men are not normally whiners, backstabbers, game players, caddy, jealous, conniving, or manipulative (although I am well aware that there ARE exceptions!). I always stay true to myself and try to live life to the fullest. You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough!
You must never feel badly about making mistakes as long as you learn from them. For you often learn more by being wrong for the right reasons than you do by being right for the wrong reasons.
