Growing up in Hines Creek, Alberta, musical influences such as Charley Pride and Ricky Skaggs helped develop Tracy's love for traditional country music. It is truly evident through her style and vocal performance today that her road is indeed a "country road". Her repertoire has been enjoyed by many as she stays true to her classic country roots.Her musical ability was evident early. Singing by the age of three and having an incredible ear for music, she taught herself to play guitar at the age of nine. She continued her musical education, learning clarinet in the school band as well as piano. As an adult, she recently added bass guitar & mandolin to her list of talents. She started song writing in her teen years, and continues to develop those skills by venturing into co-writing with some of Canada’s top songwriters.Tracy obtained a diploma in nursing, which brought her to the Edmonton area. Music has always been a big part of her life, but it wasn’t until a few years ago, that she took a giant leap of faith, leaving a permanent nursing position behind to pursue music on a fulltime basis. She quickly became a crowd favourite anywhere she performed, and the long list of show dates is testament to the demand for Tracy’s performances.In a relatively short period of time, Tracy has made great strides in the Canadian Country Music scene due to her sensational vocal ability and unsurpassed work ethic. She has played rodeo cabarets, casinos, nightclubs, various Ag Society & Community League events as well as Festivals such as Big Valley Jamboree, Spilchen's Country Fever, The Magnificent River Rats Festival and Edmonton's annual Klondike Days. She has also been a guest performer in Las Vegas during the National Finals Rodeo, done numerous performances during the Canadian Finals Rodeo as well as the Tim Horton’s Brier. She has shared the stage at various events with other Canadian artists such as Duane Steele, The Poverty Plainsmen, Aaron Lines & Patricia Conroy, just to name a few.Tracy recently completed her first full length album, which was released to retail January 2005. Three subsequent singles prior to the completion of her album garnered her significant airplay throughout Western Canada, as well as the Yukon & N.W.T. Recent singles have attained her first radio adds throughout Eastern Canada as well as those in the West.In April 2005, Tracy signed a radio promotions deal with Comstock Records to promote her album to Europe, Australia & New Zealand. She has several songs in rotation throughout Europe and just recently attained her first Top 20 single with “From The First Helloâ€. The response and feedback has been overwhelming as she looks forward to conquering this market even further.Having local radio airplay garnered her a spot in the annual "Global Country Festival of Stars†concert at the Winspear Centre in Edmonton. 2005 marks the third consecutive year she has been invited to perform at this event along with some of Canada's top country music artists which have included Adam Gregory, Brad Johner, Jake Mathews, Corb Lund and The Good Brothers. Tracy also earned a prestigious "Canadian Country Music Association Showcase" during Country Music Week in Calgary, September 2003 as well as a “Junofest†Showcase during Juno Week in Edmonton April 2004. . These showcases put her in front of some of Canada's top talent buyers, agents and record labels, and granted her a great deal of recognition in the Canadian Country Music scene. It also awarded her with the label of being “true countryâ€, a label she wears proudly.Tracy was asked to perform “O Canada†at the first ever West Edmonton Mall Grand Prix in July 2005. With over 90,000 fans in attendance, and an estimated 200 million worldwide, it was certainly a career highlight.By playing her own style of country music, her love for the craft is broadcast in each performance. She delivers every song with enthusiasm and heart - both of which easily define “Tracy Millarâ€. Those who have enjoyed her performances are instantly captivated by her incredible voice, kind demeanour, sense of humour and great stage energy.It has been said that though she may be small in stature, she has a big heart, and an even bigger voice. Those that have enjoyed her performances and have had the opportunity to work with her will certainly agree. She is truly a "country girl" to the core.
