Bobby Eaton was born and raised in Tulsa Oklahoma Playing Bass guitar in local Bands along the sides of CHARLIE WILSON(vocals,keyboards),Malvin"Dino" Vice(trumpet),Marty Bryant(Sax),Lawrence Brown(trumpet),Micheal Jennings(trombone-OHIO PLAYERS,ZAPP) Charles"Sonny"Tarver(trumpet,guitar) Troy Hanson(trumpet),Bobby Giles(guitar)Mitchell "Dooney" Edwards(Drums)THE LIBERATORS SHOW BAND featuring the Late Wanda Offord on vocals.James"Baky"Jones(Spinadas Band). I was the leader of a band called the LIBERATORS who were a rival band to the GAP BAND. We weren't even old enough to be playing in adult clubs. School Students by day and musicians by night. Charlie played with the liberators in a club called the Gallery supper club which was in back of the International club on Pine St.(TULSA,OK)were his older brother RONNIE WILSON and his peers were playing.
They were the GAPBAND and we at the time with Charlie gave them hell every night. Charlie later joined the GAPBAND for fifty dollars more in which Ronnie his older brother gave him no choice.
Eventually after playing with other local bands I moved to LOS ANGELES CALIFORNIA from TULSA with Mitchell"Dooney" Edwards and met IKE and TINA TURNER also the late Producer/Keyboardist PATRICK MOTEN who wrote the hit song(if you think you lonely now)and also produced ANITA BAKER.
CHARLIE AND ROBERT WILSON had become very good friends with IKE TURNER and were recording with him at Bolic Sound Studios in Inglewood CA. The GAP BAND had already relocated to California Working with Total Experience Records and night club,I also join the Total Experience playing Bass for DJ ROGERS/NEW EXPERIENCE in which Charlie hooked me up.
That Association led me to playing bass with such great artist as NATALIE COLE,DJ ROGERS,BOBBY WOMACK and others.
Performing with NATALIE COLE was most memorable, we traveled the world performing at various concert venues,studios and T.V shows. I received Platnium and Gold records while with NATALIE,also wrote and produced music for various artist such as the MEMPHIS HORNS(RCA),LIPSTICK.
Being in music for as long as I have has taught me alot about people and life. I've also been playing Gospel here in Houston,Texas and spot dates with the Grammy award winning group the DAZZBAND(let it Whip).
I attend the New Mount Cavary Baptist Church where Pastor Willie Jones is the Senior Pastor. My brother Bryan Eaton and I Have a recording/Video studio(Etechmultimedia) fully loaded with pro tools,logic,ssl,JVC HD PRO,final cut studio and other state of the art equipment. I'll be playing bass guitar until I can't play anymore. Trust in GOD and Believe in your dream,Life is Good!!!!!... </a
