Whattup, I'm your Megalodonic friend Chevontez. I'm just a dude that wants to have fun w/ music and work on different personal projects. I've attempted to do the "rock star" thing and played in bands, but I realized that kind of thing is not for me. I had great experiences w/ Tropidelic, such as sharing the stage w/ Pepper, The Wailers, Passafire, Afroman, Parliament/Funkadelic and even meeting several of the above mentioned. I played a date on the Warped Tour. We played NYC. We played the Florida Music Festival. Stll, in the long run it is not for me and now I will be working on various endeavors.
I started playing guitar in high school. I have since graduated from Kent State University. I started off in a Canton, OH based hard rock band, Waterpipes. It was a band of some high school/middle school buddies of mine and I played bass. It got my foot in the door and was a learning experience. That band started to wind down when I was in college. While at KSU, I formed a new band. We built up a full band and took on a sound mixin styles of reggae, rock, hip hop, and many other funky styles. I was able to play many shows to big crowds, gained local popularity, and have many great life experiences from Tropidelic. I am no longer playing with that band. I would say I wish them well but after writing a majority portion of the music and then having them close out the bank account I was a part of, taking all the money, and not giving me a dime, I hope they get whats comin for them.
That brings me to now. Currently residing in Nashville, TN w/ my girl and my dog, Tiki, I have had many ponderings. I've always had a part of me that enjoyed playing music by myself on my own time then doing the whole band thing. I know it sounds crazy, but it's true. And I love making my own recordings, usually involving some guitar tracks, drum loops, and other various key boards and effects. I've learned many styles of playing. I would love to make music for commercials, movies, video games, etc. Also, I'm down with anybody that is a vocalist, musician, whatever, that wants to collaborate. Hit me up.
I'm down with music from all kinds of rock, reggae, ska, surf, funk, and whatever else. This site is for demos and songs I am working on in progress. They are not perfect and I often leave in mistakes for the demos, but it's something different.
