About Me

I have been (and will always be in some instances) the Southern cow-girl, the adventure-seeking girls-can-do-anything-boys-can-but-BETTER tom-boy, the Catholic school-girl, the goody-two shoes, the rebellious trouble-maker, the geek, the freak, the third-wheel, the newbie, the crazy American, the good-hearted Filipina, Mommy's little helper, Daddy's awful nightmare, the party grrrl...but all of my experiences at the cross-roads have gladly led me to the vivacious, introspective, crazy, torrid, obnoxiously loud, rebellious, independent, antsy mistisa that I am today. . .BOW CHIKA BOW WOOOOOW!!!! With that said, I confess I am an ambitious, extremely neurotic, semi-perfectionistic borderline-control-freak. (Hey, at least I acknowledge it and am working on the problem!) I tend to find beauty and entertainment in the simplest of things; it doesn't take a lot to make me happy. I'm a bit of a dreamer but try to be more of a realist these days. I believe that everything is relative. . .everyone likes to arrange their beliefs based on a neat and tidy dichotomy but they fail to realize that there exists a vast horizon of gray area (which continues to fuel my openmindedness and incredibly accepting nature). We have to learn to deconstruct these limiting epistemological dichotomies that structure our society and open our narrow perspective in order to better understand and appreciate the unique, complex, and cultural experience of each individual. I have a very big heart that is sometimes obscured by a cold hard exterior; I can be very guarded at times. I tend to be extremely opinionated, on the defensive, but very inquisitive. I love illuminating and stimulating debates/conversations. I have an insatiable thirst for knowledge, an immensely sympathetic soul, and a strong sense of self. I can be incredibly patient at times but I do have a nasty temper that can be quick to erupt. I tend to be extremely stubborn and can be a major pain in the ass at times. I have a lot of pent up rage left over from childhood that sometimes rears it's ugly aggressive head, especially when I've had a little too much to drink! (It's my birthday BITCH!!!) And I'm a wee bit perverted and foul-mouthed but then again, aren't we all?! (Consider yourself properly warned!) I have a very forgiving nature but if you're an immature, uncommunicative, self-centered, manipulative, two-faced, pathological lying ASSHOLE, then the BITCH in me comes out to pay you a warm visit and wish you GOOD RIDDANCE! I am the Queen of Confrontation so if you're pissing me off, do not worry, I am not shy about sharing my feelings. . .and I tend to have pretty bad PMS some months but instead of taking out my frustrations on others, I like to lock myself in my room and quarantine my moodiness. I love meeting new and interesting people and making new friends so don't let my self-description scare you!!! Huaah hahh hah ha!!!!

My mom, who is an extremely strong, immensely caring, independent, courageous, impeccably resilient individual and the most amazing woman that I have known, presently know, and ever will know! She has lived through the Tiananmin Square Massacre, the bloodiest coup in Manila, the eruption of Mt. Pinatubo, and the bombing of the US Embassy in Nairobi. She has worked 15 hour days without a blink of an eye for the past 23 years and comes home for the second shift to care for two babies. She is a true force to be reckoned with!!!! And she does not even realize her own worth. (AAAAAAAWWWWWWWWW. . .choke choke, tear tear) I LOVE YOU MOM!!!!!!!!!! And thank you Dad for showing me what I never want to become...
