Hey there, well I'm Aaron Russ. I first started playing records back when i was about 14, I was in school and grew up next door to Stephen Green (SGNY. yes Emma's older brother). Who at the time was a well established club Dj. After hearing all his stories about big club weekends, parties and so on i decided that i wanted a piece of the action. So not really knowing what i was doing i went out and bought a pair of turntables and a mixer. Later i found that my mixer was actually a professional sound mixer and a little over the top and my turntables were rubbish phillips things that had no pitch controll... Introduce the SL 1200. Getting my hands on a pair of these was a mission, how in gods name could a pair of 'record players' cost so f@&ing much?? But it happened and away we went. I played my first gig at a friends birthday party, then moved on to bigger things, rugby club parties, weddings shit like that. Not quite the glamour that steve had been bragging about. Well things were about to change, I had been told about a party called The Brain, so i thought time to fake ID myself and get along to this party. Well i never in my life thought there would be such a place where there would be 1000ish girls all wearing practically nothing in the same place at the same time and all so friendly, not like the pretentious stuck up girls at school. I decided i really wanted a piece of this action, so i made some inquiries and hooked myself up a job working with the production team. (syd deano ace Big ups) from there i got some boookings playin in clubs and my carrer was on the rise. Eventually i bought myself a nightclub and managed that for 4 years or so, was great fun, of cause as i owned the joint i had to play there too, my club my rules.. After all that i got bookings to play at staircase and other Hard House gigs, but i eventually got over it as playing hard as nails at 10am the morning after to a bunch of zombies was not really myt thing. So i hung up my headphones. In my down time i somehow ended up best friends with Sample Gee... seriously i practically live there now. and in turn came hanging out with Grant Marshall and The General. Nice little circle, after hanging out with them for a while and realising how much i missed mixing tunes i decided to dust off the turntables and slap a CD together and here we are again, playing clubs and parties but with a slight genre change, prefering now to play vocal club house, jazzy house and a little club electro. So here we are and things are progressing nicely. I would like to thank Grant (Sample Gee) Kearney, Grant (Grant Marshall) Marshall, Sam Hill, and General Ma Lee and my brother Hayden.. Without him none of this would have happened, cheers buddy!!.
