The vision of Imitatio Dei is that through faithful prayer, hopeful sacrifices, and loving penance, our relationship with God will grow and strengthen in the radiance of grace, redemption, and peace.
Our Mission
The mission of Imitatio Dei is to live a Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic life by means of the power of prayer, sacrifice, and penance.
Our Work
A member of Imitatio Dei is someone who has been called by the Holy Spirit to seek our Lord and God and hear his calling deep within. They responds by living a life of prayer, sacrifice, and penance to enter into a spiritual union with God the Father, through Lord Jesus Christ his only Son by the power of the Holy Spirit. It is this vital commitment that makes a member. Their whole life flows from that source.
Prayer
Prayer is a true relationship with God. Its authenticity is measured by faithfulness to the Word of God. Growth in prayer is measured by an increasing depth of having grace. Contemplation is simply a growing friendship with Christ. As with any relationship it needs time and communal attendance to grow.
Sacrifice
Sacrifice strengthens the relationship with God. Its power is measured by passion and transformation. The growth of this power is measured by an increaseing depth of having redemption. Submitting to the Will of God is merely a growing in love for Christ.
Penance
Penance is the renewing element of our relationship. Its cleansing element is measured by contrition.
Our Calling
We are called to work in the presence of God throughout the entire day. Not just through prayer but also through sacrifice and penance. These are not confined to set times or places but is an attitude that embraces all of life. This practice of the presence of God fosters and grows out of a life of prayer sacrifice and penance.
