Bobby D'Ambrosio has recently been interviewed in the Nov. 2008 issue of 20th Century Guitar Magazine and also in the new book by Tyler Gray called "The Hit Charade." Bobby is the Founder and Bassist of APOSTLE. APOSTLE is a Prog Rock Band playing the best of all Prog Music and also performing a YES show paying Tribute to one of the best Prog Bands of our time. Please check out APOSTLE's MySpace page at www.myspace.com/apostletheprogrockband and see APOSTLE perform as a YES Tribute Band. Bobby is also a member of FLYER, the first band produced by Lou Pearlman. Here is Bobby's bio as written by Now Visionary Records. Now Visionary Records would like you to meet Bobby D'Ambrosio of FLYER. Bobby's musical career started at the age of 6 when he auditioned as "Elvis" on the Ed Sullivan Show. He was aptly named the first Elvis impersonator. In his early teens he was extremely motivated and quickly excelled at playing lead guitar and keyboard, but focused in on bass guitar as his outlet for musical expression. His musical ability came naturally and without any professional teachings. Being part of a band was a very important aspect of Bobby's life. His musical talent quickly surrounded him with top musicians. Bobby played in the group "Revolver" along with guitarist Wayne Avers, who later became the guitarist for "The Monkees" on tour. Another one of Bobby's musical experiences was being a member of the "New Ohio Express" as lead vocalist. The "Ohio Express" started the 1960's "Bubble Gum" music craze with their hit "Yummy, Yummy, Yummy". Bobby is also the founder of "APOSTLE", a progressive Rock band originally formed in 1977. Bobby played bass guitar side by side with keyboardist Jordan Rudess when Jordan was the keyboardist in "APOSTLE." Jordan is one of the music industry's top keyboard virtuosos. Jordan is currently in the band "Dream Theater". Throughout the years, Bobby continued to develop his song writing skills and wrote catchy tunes with memorable melodies. One such tune, "On Long Island" was in the running to become Long Island's official theme song. In the early 1980's, Bobby teamed up with Willie Colon and Joe DePalo. Together, with a few other musicians and Lou Pearlman ( founder of Backstreet Boys, N Sync, O Town, etc.) at the helm, they became "FLYER". His vocals and creative bass playing strengthened and rounded out the "FLYER" sound, but it is Bobby's extensive knowledge of the keyboard that creates the foundation for many of the band's melodic songs. Bobby's musical expressions emanate from his inner being and vibrant personality adding a special flair to "FLYER's" music and persona. Music is Bobby's business as well as being the owner of an Export Recycled Clothing Company.
