In the Absence of Light...Darkness Prevails

About Me

I love the arts. I write, I draw/paint, I make music and short films. I like to read and skateboard.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

A woman of the world. Someone who's smart, sophisticated but simple. Someone who is active and understanding.

Music:

I listen to a lot of Rock; Progressive, New Metal, Classic Rock, you name it. A PERFECT CIRCLE is my favorite band but THE DOORS are my all time favorite. I listen to some Hip-Hop too. I think Gangster rap is cool. When I'm in the mood for it, I listen to FRANK SINATRA and also some classical music.

Movies:

I'm a big movie fan. The "GODFATHER SERIES" would have to be up there for me. I won't forget De Niro in "TAXI DRIVER" and "RAGING BULL". Anything that has him or Jack Nicholson is really cool for me. My favorites would have to be Kubrick's "A CLOCKWORK ORANGE", Baz Luhrman's movies, "ROMEO AND JULIET", "MOULIN ROGUE" (these 2 because of two very significant ex girlfriends). "FIGHT CLUB", "GREAT EXPECTATIONS": and "THE LORD OF THE RINGS" also make it to my list.

Television:

I am probably David Letterman's biggest fan. I get a kick out of 30 minute laughs like EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND, BECKER and THE SIMPSONS. Lately, I've noticed that my attention span is becoming alarmingly shorter, which is why I've been settling for NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC and ANIMAL PLANET. Cool Stuff though. I'm not into Reality TV. NBA and UFC is as real as it gets for me. (and I watch lots of those. NBA everyday, baby!)

Books:

I read just about anything I can get my hands on. I'm a career driven person and I read a lot of Advertising books (Bill Bernbach, Jim Aitchison, David Ogilvy) to help me with my work.I've read some really inspiring books as well. Read Steven Pressfield's (He wrote the Legend of Bagger Vance) "THE WAR OF ART". It'll change the way you approach things, believe me.Jennifer Kushell's "SECRETS OF THE YOUNG AND SUCCESSFUL" is nice if you want to put up your own businesses.I read a lot of fiction in my spare time, and I've read a lot of Anne Rice, Neil Gaiman (courtesy of my friend, Lem) and even some J.K. Rowling (I've read Harry Potters 1 to 3)Right now, I'm reading through Philip Pullman's Dark Materials Series. Pretty neat stuff. Not bad for something classified under Children's Books.

Heroes:

FICTIONAL: Captain Jean Luc Picard of the Starship Enterprise REAL LIFE: My Mom and My Grandpa who are both watching over me in Heaven.
