The Sisters Grimm

About Me

Michael Buckley’s Grimm future began at birth in Akron, Ohio. He attended Ohio University where he worked on the school newspaper, hosted his own live television talk show and formed a comedy troupe. After graduating with honors he moved to New York City to find his fortune, but instead found work as a pasta maker, hamburger flipper, personal assistant, stand-up comic, and even a singer in a punk rock band. His parents worried that Michael might be shiftless but he assured them that he was acquiring valuable life experience (but really he was just trying to pay the rent). Eventually he found work in television production and in his ten year career he has developed programming for MTV, MTV Animation, Discovery Networks and Klasky Csupo (producers of Nickelodeon's Rugrats), focusing heavily on children’s programming. The Sisters Grimm WebsiteThe Sisters Grimm series is Michael’s first venture into the world of children’s book writing. His mom and dad insist they are proud of him, even if the whole “I’m going to write a book” idea sounded like another one of their son’s poorly thought out money-making schemes he claimed was “life experience.” Michael lives in New York City with his wife Alison.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Sabrina Grimm (11 years old) - Sabrina is skeptical and mature for her age having to grow up fast in the orphanage so she could protect her little sister. She's tough, and prides herself on never crying, but she's stubborn and short-tempered. Her major concern is keeping young Daphne safe.

Daphne Grimm (7 years old) - Daphne is wide-eyed and curious, filled with happiness and hope for the future. Sabrina did a good job looking out for her after their parents disappeared because she's maintained a great sense of humor and joy about her. She also acts as the voice of reason for her older sister when Sabrina's view of things gets too narrow.

Granny Relda Grimm (she's not telling) - Eccentric, worldly and kind. A nice balance of a cookie-baking grandmother and world-class detective. Though Granny has seen it all in her long life, including the death of her husband and the kidnapping of her son and his wife, she looks at life as a series of opportunities and adventures. Though she can be occasionally secretive, one must understand there are some secrets that are best not told.

Puck a.k.a. The Trickster King - (4000 years old) - he may look and act like an eleven year old boy but he's really thousands of years old. Despite his claims at being the world's greatest villain he can always be counted on to save the day and to be an annoying pain to Sabrina.

Mr. Canis (hundreds of years old) - Granny's companion and friend, this grouchy old man's frail frame disguises his true self. Canis is, or was, The Big Bad Wolf, a murderous and legendary Everafter. The story of how he gained control of his other identity is unknown but his struggle to maintain dominance is on-going.

Mirror - The Wicked Queen's magic mirror now resides in the Grimm household, and the man inside it guards and incredible fortune of magical items and creatures for the family. Slightly eccentric and always hilarious, Mirror is the family's go-to man when problems occur.

Mayor Charming - The arrogant former Prince Charming runs Ferryport Landing like his former kingdom. Handsome and dashing, the man can instantly become insulting and mean when his underlings disappoint him. He has never liked the Grimms and has publicly announced that he plans to destroy them, though deep down, he is still the hero he once was.
