UPCOMING SHOWS ..Biography
For the last decade, Tranceducer (born Matt Lanik) has helped develop the Arizona underground dance music scene. A staple at nearly every Arizona event for much of that time, Tranceducer has amassed a faithful following. His recent ventures are sure to further solidify and expand his significance to the Tucson and Arizona dance collective.
As Tucson’s premier UK Hardhouse and Progressive Trance DJ, a local event is incomplete without Tranceducer on the lineup. He has opened for the some of the biggest names in the country, including DJ Dan, Christopher Lawrence, Keoki, Charles Feelgood, Jon Bishop and more. Tranceducer has held numerous weekly residences, in a city where many DJs struggle for public appearances.
Tranceducer cites Jon Bishop, Satoshi Tomiie, John B, Judge Jules, Dieselboy, and Dara as influences, among others. His professional goals include playing internationally in Ibiza and creating his own record label. Ever the purist, Tranceducer strives to generate a respect and appreciation for the music he brings to us.
In his position as the vinyl buyer and assistant manager for Zia Records, Tranceducer helps keep the Tucson DJ scene alive; an increasingly important endeavor given the recent demise of Tucson’s 2 primary record stores. A true music lover, his tastes run the gamut from Alternative and Punk to Trance to Hip Hop and more. It is this broad spectrum Tranceducer draws from to constantly evolve and remain at the forefront.
Working with producer John Henry as one-half of the TranceHenry Remix Project, Tranceducer has received glowing reviews. Crowds have been worked into a frenzy by remixes of Mike Jones’ “Back Then,†Paul Wall’s “Sittin Sidewayz,†and Perfect Circle’s “Imagine.†Forthcoming TranceHenry Remixes are anxiously awaited.
It is during these production sessions that further inspiration fell upon Tranceducer. His creative mind craved another outlet for expression and the Dutch Monk was born. As with most alter egos, the Dutch Monk is much different from the mild-mannered Tranceducer. Dropping frenetic Drum & Bass, the Dutch Monk adds another dimension to the multifaceted Matt Lanik. Recently, Tranceducer has formed the Electro House Super Group THRESHOLD with fellow accomplished DJ John Haze, their debut performance opening for Meat Katie from the UK. Only time will tell what is next from this man …
