About Me

Take one part "28 Days Later", one part "Shaun of The Dead" add a pinch of "High Fidelity" and you have the outrageous new zombie comedy "Dead Moon Rising". Written and directed by Mark E. Poole.
Jim is your average joe slaving away at Cheap-Skate Car Rentals at Louisville's International Airport when all hell breaks loose. The dead begin to return to life and feed upon the living! Jim is joined by his co-workers, the disgruntled Nick and the always by the book Bob, as they set out to find answers. They are joined by the very sexy and "barely" legal April, Dick an out of town jerk, a bible "thumping" mother and son team, a tough female cop, a military nut and a six foot blonde one-woman zombie killing machine named Vix! Together they must take on an endless horde of dieased, wicked-fast and hungry zeds in this no-holds barred, drop dead funny actioner that promises to deliver the bloody goods!

Mark E. Poole began his movie career while taking film classes at Virginia Polytechnic and State University. He studied film theory, editing, and lighting. He shot short films on a 16MM Arriflex, and cut on a Movieola. He has made a number of short films and wedding videos since graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Architecture. He has become proficient in 3D modeling, animation, and NLE editing. In 2005 he wrote, produced, directed, and edited "THE BIG GREEN," a 15-minute film noir that included Lightwave CGI special effects.He has also written a number of short stories and screenplays."DEAD MOON RISING" is his first feature-length project. He used over twenty years of project management experience to keep the film on-schedule and within budget. Call sheets, custom electronic strip boards, and shot lists were all managed using a custom Excel spreadsheet he created for the project. His people skills were put to task in order to keep over two-dozen cast, crew, and 1200 extras excited about the project.
