About Me

hex is - Ruth Price, Terry Dix and Linda Dix. We sing unaccompanied songs and shanties in ear-splitting raw harmony. We got together 3 years ago but have all been singing individually for a long time. We thought it would be good to sing some of those great traditional songs that seem to have been neglected over the years. Ruth is a Yorkshire gel and also sings with her sister Sadie Greenwood; her father is the late folksinger Bill Price. Terry and Linda hail from Northamptonshire.hex was booked for Warwick and Bromyard Folk Festivals in 2006 and sang at the Cornwall Folk Festival in the same year. In 2007 we performed at Shepley FF, Gate to Southwell FF, Warwick FF and various other events and folk clubs. In 2008 we sang at several festivals and clubs (including the brilliant Herga folk club) plus 3 gigs in Austria. Our album called 'Sleep when you're dead' was released in the summer of 2006 and launched at Whitby Folk Week with the help of Mr Sid Kipper. If you would like a copy please send us a message (£10 - free postage - bargain!). If you would like us to sing for you please message us.
