Born in the early 1980’s Barry Coleman grew up surrounded by the sounds of funk & soul, all due to his father’s record collection. At a very young age he and a friend decided to do a party where they were the dj’s! Off course it all was a bit clumsy and improvised but here he got the fever for entertaining crowds. Due to circumstances it still took him a couple of years to get his dj career started.Then there was the year 2003! He got some money together and bought his first vinyl records. With the help of a friend he developed his skills and in a couple of months he was ready for his first gig. DJ2DJ gave him the opportunity to go and play in a bar together with other young & talented dj’s and this was very valuable for his confidence and skills. A few months later he entered himself in his first dj contest which he eventually won, he was chosen over a couple dozen other young dj’s. After this contest he got some national and international bookings bringing him throughout Belgium and the Netherlands.2005 started off pretty good with a second place on a minor dj contest and the top spot at another big contest. He also started his weekly hour on lazerhothits radio together with his partner in crime De*Ago. Barry Coleman was also contacted for doing sets at another radio station called Clubvibes. His dj skills were also being broadcasted on a national radio station called Top Radio. 2005 was also the year wich Barry Coleman went digital! He invested in some brand new high tech Pioneer cd players a new mixer and some turntables and he got busy…2006 was a pretty calm year with less bookings, but at the end of the year Barry got started with producing his own music. So be on the look-out for some of his stuff… think deep-groovy-funky2007 is still fresh but Barry Coleman is in full force, working on his productions and preparing a series of party’s together with friends!
