I like to play a bunch of music, especially in front of an audience. I usually play harmonica. I also play me some trumpet, keyboard, accordion, and guitar. I write songs that aren't that good and I suck at singing.
Other interests include: mountain biking, really bad surfing, working out too much, occasionally drawing or painting stuff, trying to come up with good T-shirt prints, and hoping people don't ask me to fix their computers.
I also love to travel. I've done ten transcontinental drives so far, trying to stay on the back roads. There's a lot of cool stuff out there, and you never know where you'll find it.
Chewbacca, Mr. T, the Aquabats, and people who do interesting things and don't care what other people might think of them. And musicians who want to rock.
There's tons of good music. You should listen to it. Bluesy rock is probably my favorite. I've recently become a big fan of James McMurtry. I love classic rock, and there's something about good southern rock that gets me off. Almost makes me want to like country music, but not quite. Maybe I've spent too much time in the south. Or not enough.
I'm also really into ska and punk, but only if it's good punk. There's tons of shitty punk and watered-down punk rock for kids that I don't want anything to do with, plus emo just about ruined everything. At least we still have NoFX and Bad Religion.
I used to go to way too many punk shows. It's good stuff. I've put in some good hours in the mosh pit.
Other music... Metal is good if it's not just screaming. It has to rock as well. Dragonforce is a good example of awesome metal, even though it always makes me think of nerds playing World of Warcraft and thinking they're awesome. Most stuff with the -core suffix is pretty bad.
I've never been able to fully understand classical music. Sure, a lot of it is beautiful, but I just don't have the attention span to make it through a whole symphony.
Jazz gets annoying.
I guess I'm just not sophisticated enough to handle more than four or five chords in one song.
Blues. Songs that are made with blues are the best. Nothing's better than getting my face melted by a sweet blues solo, notes bending all over the place.
also, this guy is a big musical influence on me.
Three Amigos, Back to the Future, Napoleon Dynamite, and Goonies are all you need. And anything Mel Brooks ever made. And Fight Club. We'd be better off if we had a holiday where everyone sits down and watches that movie. I also think The Princess Bride is a really cool movie, and so is Casablanca. 300 was awesome, even though the stupid dialog always makes me think of Arby's ("Tonight, we dine in hell!"). And I still like The Blair Witch Project. And Adam Sandler is great when I feel like being retarded. Labyrinth is awesome too.

I read lots of books. Bill Bryson is my favorite non-fiction writer. Kurt Vonnegut is probably my favorite fiction writer. I haven't been able to read much fiction in a while though. I would like to.
Moby Dick was the most painful book I've read. Find Waldo Now was the least. Books are pretty good. I'm a really slow reader though, so it takes me a while to get through one. Also most of my reading ends up being technical earth science articles for school stuff, so reading books is kind of a luxury.
One thing I like to do with books is to find a retarded romance novel with the most ridiculous picture on the cover and sit there pretending to read it in a very public place, just so I can see how people react. It's a great way to kill time at an airport.
The Aquabats, Danger Woman, and everyone who lives at Slab City.
