About Me

One day a thirty - year old viual artist of no uncertain distinction attended a performance by blues legend Ko Ko Taylor, and Winnipeg's vibrant blues scence has never been the same. Since that day, Debra Lyn has been called "Winnipeg's foremost blueswoman" ( J. Monk, Uptown), and "Winnipeg's Reigning Queen of the Blues" (R. Williams, Winnipeg Free Press), and for good reason. Her band always includes the cream of the city"s top roots musicans, and the sheer force of her personality means good times are guaranteed. Two critically-acclaimed CD's ( Lock Up Your Sons" - 2004 and "Bootleg" - 2006) filled with original material have showcased the depth and range of her uncommon talent. Her music has been described as "guitar drenched Chicago-style ripsnorters" all the way through to "sizzling, smoking, sexy blues rockers." Her lyrics have been called, "sad and sweet and down and dirty" as well as "tough and tender" and "honest to a fault" Whether leading a band, or in a duo, Debra Lyn's love of music ,people and performing creates an unforgettable experiance, and leaves the listener with a lingering desire to hear what's next.
