About Me

I started learning music in 1977 in the conservatory of Rueil-Malmaison (Paris, France). The clarinet was then my very first instrument. In 1986 my parents bought me a DX7 and an Atari STF, making me dive into MIDI and FM synthesis. I then started to compose little tunes, play the keyboard, and write my own musical software for the Atari.
My first experience of playing in a band (other than classical music) happened in 1988 with a jazz & funk group, and I started to become familiar with jazz standards. In the meanwhile I discovered world known funk/fusion artists, which inspired me a lot (Herbie Hancock, Chick Korea, Weather Report, ...) - and still does ! -
1990 After years, i had to choose wether to go 100% into classical music and become a clarinet teacher, but beeing so attracted to jazz, funk and electro made me realize I couldn't spend my whole life focused on this musical genre (and perhaps on this particular instrument also). Then, I left the conservatory that year and started to play in several bands (as sax essentially, bass, even drums once in a noisy-rock band -hopefully got no tape from this experience ;-)).
2002 I met french Hiphop artist Gasoline and music labels La Fondation and Pamplemousse. Took "Aerodrink" as nick (well, had to find one ... :-/ ) and collaborated in several releases from this labels, producing in my little home-studio.
In parrallel of all this, I'm a software programmer for an IT company (which is my every day job btw). I'm not that fruitful when it comes to producing tons of sound : I spend much more time playing & training on the instruments (mainly guitar & keyboard at the moment) than really producing ... it's my out of the world-basement-lab and I like it like that ;-)
My latest work :
- House Of the Dancing Skulls - released December 2007 (Pamplemousse)
- Ludolabs / Rockin' - released November 13th, 2006 (Pamplemousse)
The vocal is from Ludo, and I asked Dj Troubl' for some scratching (amazing, as always ...)
- Gasoline / Snap Your Neck Back - 2004 (La Fondation)
Album from the very talented artist Gasoline, I had the chance to play lots of instruments on his album (rhodes, wurlitzer, sax, guitar, bass ...)
- Battle Weapons In Session 1 - 2002 (La Fondation)
