But on Sunday, Seven, of Washington, D.C. won a national hair styling competition and came home with his biggest tip ever -- $50,000 in cash and prizes– in Sensationnel’s Hair Idol ‘08 competition held in Atlanta, GA. “This was a very exciting experience, I was very happy to be a finalist but I was elated winning the competition” said Washington, a top celebrity stylist at Giavonni’s Salon in Largo , MD who resides in northwest Washington , D.C. Sponsored by 61-year-old Atlanta based Bronner Bros and Sensationnel, “Hair Idol ‘08” crowned Seven champion of the hair show and competition that takes elements from Fox TV’s American Idol and switches it up a bit to encompass the best in hair styling as up and coming hairstylists showcase the latest trends in hair extension designs on a new generation of young models. Seven, along with model Shalynda McKenzie used his shear genius as he competed against 15 of the best stylists and models in the country. At the end of the three-day competition Seven and Shalynda walked away with the following titles:  1st place in Avant Garde styling & photo shoot  1st place Fun & Funky Wig Cutting  3rd place in Casual Day The evening commenced with Seven and Shalynda being crowned Hair Idol 08. Their team collectively won over $50,000 in cash prizes including $10,000 to a charity of their choice. They will also be featured in Sophisticate and Upscale Magazine. Shalynda was awarded with a representation by a New York Modeling Agency for one year. Seven is a graduate of Dudley Beauty College in Washington, DC. He has been recognized for his stellar signature styles, his work has been featured in Vogue, Essence, and many other beauty and fashion magazines as well as TV programming including, “Good Morning America,” “The Martha Stewart Show, ”and “Extreme Makeover.” His celebrity clientele includes Patti LaBelle, Chaka Khan, & Shaun Robinson.
