In 1992 came our first look at a girl fighting for her life against the forces of evil. Joss Whedon said he wanted to build a female heroine that could fight back! Kristy Swanson, the Buffy that filled our screans could use her monthly stomach cramps as a way to attract vampires. Buffy's watcher was called Merrick Jamison-Smythe and was played by Life long actor Donald Sutherland. The film also stared Rutger Hauer as Lothos and Luke Perry as Oliver Pike. Buffy was a chearleader and a very populer school girl. This story line is continued throughout The future Buffy the Vampire Slayer show.

It didn't take long for the Buffy franchise to take control of our lifes. Next to Friends and StarTrex, Buffy was the next biggest franchise out there at that time. World domination came in the form of a blonde girl with a wooden stake.....
The 1st of June 2001 at 8pm on Skyone saw the season finel that would rock the world. The season 5 finel named "The Gift" was one of the best episodes of all time written and directed by the Buffy creater himself Joss Whedon. From start to finish it had every Buffy fan biting there nales. You could not sit down to watch it unless you had a box of tissues near by. There was not a news paper that didnt print the up and coming finel within there pages. It seemed the secret was out. One news paper wrote "Buffy The Vampire Slayer bites the dust-but not before saving the world from the jaws of hell. The high-kicking babe, played be Sarah Michelle Gellar, lies dead after diving from an electricity pylon, but her heroic sacrifice has prevented the gates of hell from opening and has saved the human race. Now scriptwriters have to find a way of bringing her back for a sixth serise of the cult show she has already signed up for. The final episode of this serise, to be screened on June 1, ends with a lingering look at Buffy's gravestone. The tongue-in-cheek tribute reads: Buffy Anne Summers 1981-2001. Beloved sister and devoted friend. She saved the world...a lot.
After the final of season 5 aired, the same question was on everyones lips and the Buffy scriped writers were keeping a tite lid on the up and coming stories that would bring Buffy back to life. The first episode of season 6 didnt keep us waiting for long. Willow, Xander, Tara and Anya all took part in the resurrection of the Slayer who had to dig herself out of her own grave just like a vampire. The scrip writters had done it again, Buffy was back and kicking ass like never before.

After the very moving end to season 6 with evil Willow and for the first time Xander saving the world came the speculations that maybe Buffy was coming to an end. Again every news paper was printing the story that it was the end and season seven would be the last. Then in the 46th issue of Buffy the vampire slayer came the news no fan of the show wanted to hear. Buffy to End! Sarah Michelle Gellar had anounced that she would not be signing to do any more shows after the season 7 final "Chosen" written and directed by Joss Whedon. Whendon said he was not interested in taking the show any ferther without Sarah, but that he wanted to leave the story line for the posiblity of a tv movie. So on the 20th of May 2003 came the episode we really didn't want to watch but couldnt tear are selfs away from. It was the end of Buffy the Vampire Slayer for good. Yes it was the end but an ending to be proud of. Joss didn't let the fans down. It was by far the best episode he had ever created and one that would remain in our hearts forever.
Yes the show was ending but this didn't stop the companies such as Inkworks and Moore Action Collectables from bring out more merchandise, infact I think the demand was far greater for prop replicas and action figures, with the show ending. Maybe it was because fans just didn't want to come to terms with the sad news. Every month there was news of more ideas and fans were hounding websites to tell them more. of cousre after Buffy came to an end we still had another year of Angel to fill our lifes and give us the Whendon drug we so desprately craved but that only lasted for the next 12 months and then that came to an end, bring to a close the Buffy and Angel verse for good.
Que the memorabilia mayhem. The shows prop masters were selling off the on screen used props to auction houses all over the US. On screen Stakes, Crosses, news papers, Clothes, Jewelrey amd Lamps e.g. Ebay was the obviuse choice for selling props but there were and still are websites that sell presentation props such as this on screen news paper sold for £845 and this on screen cross used by Sarah Michelle Gellar in the season 5 Real Me sold for an amazing £1975. This things are still up for grabs. If you have a couple of thousand in your pocket go to...
