I was invented in Melbourne in 1922 by Cyril P. Callister the chief scientist for the Fred Walker Cheese Company. I didn't get a name until the following year when a competition was run to come up with the best name.In 1926 The Fred Waler Cheese Company aquired the licence from Kraft to manufacture processed cheese and became known as the Kraft Walker Cheese CompanyFor a breif period starting in 1928 my name was breifly changed to Parwill, which was a sad word play on the inferior English product Marmite.In 1935 there came a sad day in my life, when Fred Walker Died, and the American Kraft Company aquired a controlling share in Fred Walker and Co. I was no longer a true Aussie.I received endorsement from the British Medical Association in 1939, which allowed doctors to recommend me as a Vitamin B-rich, nutritionally balanced food for patients.After supporting our diggers in World War II, I got to travel the world more and became an Aussie Legend if somewhat tainted by my American owners.Since then the American Kraft Company went through many changes of ownership including the tobacco company Philip Morris Companies Inc. Bothe Kraft and Philip Morris are now owned by the Altria Group.Another sad day in my history came more recently, when a few days ago I found out that I was banned from entering the US. It wouldn't upset me that much only there are a lot of decent Aussies living there that rely on me to remind them of home.
