ORIGINAL ROBERT LEERobert Lee The original Bio….Robert Lee was born in the Waterhouse district of Western Kingston Jamaica. He started singing at a very early age at school and in the church choir. He made his record debut with his first song call “Leader” on the Fishtea label. He was than introduced to King Jammys by John Wayne, Pampidoo and Tollo T, where he start recording for Jammys Label.His first songs for Jammys “Lovely Lady”, “Fantasy World”, “Masterpiece” “Life is like a dream” were released on the compilation albums Super Power Vol 1 + 2, which was produced by King Jammy. He scored several hits in Jamaica like "Midnight Hour", "King fi sound", "Senseless Killing". He was the first to introduce Elephant man to the Dancehall massive with the combination songs "Run For Cover" and “Hang them” on the Greensleeves label which did well in both Europe and the Americas. His songs are also on several well-known compilation albums alongside Artists like Cocoa Tea, Gregory Isaacs and Franky Paul to name a few. He was also in charge of the auditions at the studio searching for young talents, which he auditioned Artist such as Goofy, Dynamite, Harry Toldler, Devonte. He performed several shows in Jamaica including Reggae Sunsplash, Reggae Jam plus others.He also established himself as the original soundkilla. His Dubs are played in many world clashes by sound systems like Addis International, Mighty Crown, LP, Killamanjaro, Stone Love, Guiding Star, City Lock, Pow Pow Movement, King Jammys Super Power, Black Scorpio and Metro Media. Still today he is in demand for voicing Dubs worldwide.He then decided to leave Jamaica to visit the UK. Shortly before leaving the Island he recorded some new songs like "Stride "I Spy" and “Too much war” for UK based producer Martin Campbell of Channel One UK. Those tracks were very well received in Europe.During his stay in the UK he went to Holland and runs into Anonymous Mis, front man of Dutch reggae band Postmen. Lee writes the song “Fawaka” which is included on Postmen's second album “Revival”. He also joins the band on stage whenever they go on tour. With Anonymous Mis he starts recordings his debut album for Virgin Records which is titled “In fine style” and was released in 2002. The first single “No one cares” went to the number 17 spot in the Dutch national charts and was on rotation on MTV, TMF ,and the BOX in, Holland, Belgium and Luxemburg. The next single “Stress” also did well; it went to the 22nd spot in the Charts. This excellent reggae album gets good press reviews all over Europe. In the same year Robert Lee received the Essent Music Award in Netherlands for the best reggae album. With his Band he starts touring Europe and performed on major festivals like Reggae Geel (Belgium), Two Seven Splash (Amsterdam), Summer Jam (Germany), Peace concerts (Italy). He also was invited to the Cape Verde Islands by the president and First Lady to perform on the Gamboa festival. He is still busy with stage shows, recordings and voicing killer dubplates (including the well demanded "Bang Bang" special). At the moment he is voicing for his own label call Maroon music as well as preparing an anthology of his earlier works for King Jammy's. He recently recorded new singles for many European labels including Rhythm & Sound, Mellow Sound, Blackman music label and many more.Available with Band or Sound System.
