About Me

After emerging onto the Denver music scene in the summer of 2003, one from none quickly set out to prove that not all bands are created equally. Drawing from both the heavy riffing of todays new metal bands and the dark, emotional sounds of the Seattle grunge scene, one from none has created an aggressive collage of sound that is based upon good hard rock, intoxicating melodies and emotional peaks and valleys. The dark subject matter of William Folds vocals is complemented by Tony Mircis raw, grinding guitar work. Bassist Eric Dale and drummer Dave Gussenbauer anchor each song with thick, surging grooves and powerhouse drumming. The dark soundscape of songs on the groups first CD showcases a musicianship and diversity that is rarely seen in bands today. one from none is a band that makes music for the sheer passion of it, not concerning themselves with any particular trends of the moment. It is this passion for the music that translates into hard-hitting, energetic live performances show after show. The band is consistently whipping crowds into a frenzy with their dynamic stage presence, relentless energy and a live show that is raw, sweaty, and absolutely electrifying. In the short time since their formation, one from none has played almost 100 live shows, including multiple shows at the Ogden, Bluebird, and Gothic theaters, along with numerous bars and clubs around Denver and Colorado Springs. The bands October 2004 show at the Gothic Theater was filmed by Denvers Heartbeat for inclusion on their local music television show that is broadcast in various cities around the US, as well as a live concert DVD. In February 2005, the band was selected by the Colorado Crush arena football team to play a Crush Booster Club tailgate party at the Pepsi Center before a Crush football game. Recently, one from none was selected as one of the top 8 bands in Denver for the 2005 Zippo Hot Tour. With each member bringing their own unique style and varied musical influences to the band, along with many years of playing and performing experience, the result is a mixture of dark, angst-ridden songwriting and intense, yet melodic and groove-oriented music that will appeal to fans of the hard rock, heavy metal, and grunge genres alike. While many comparisons have been made to the music, the band has a distinctive style and sound all of their own that sets them apart from the other cookie-cutter bands of today.
