About Me

Rondi is an adult-contemporary performing songwriter from Seattle, Washington. (formerly Yakima) Whe has been writing folk-rock and jazz-pop songs since she was 13. She has two prior independent album releases of her songs("Cache" released in 2000 under the psudonem Kitty Dakota and "Thorny Boquet" released in 2002.) Those albums are available at her website http://www.rondimarsh.com or CDbaby, Amazon.com, I-tunes, Net-spin, Rhapsody as well as other online stores around the world. Her first two releases have received airplay on radio stations in several countries around the world and she has a strong presence on the internet as well. She has recieved postive press and recognition for her first two albums including winner of best Harmony and Aesthetics Award, Los Angeles "Call to the Arts" conference. Her upcoming release of "The Journal" in 2008 is her first self-produced album recorded in Seattle at Garey Shelton Studios over the span of the last four years. She has called upon the first call musicians in Seattle: Tom Kellock, Lenny Price, Jay Thomas, Garey Shelton, Ben Smith, Mark Ivestor, Jeff Busch and Greg Lyman to bring their fantastic talents to the music which gives the recording a live jazz club vibe. Most of the album is her own songs but she also offers a new twist to two standard popular pop songs from the 60's as well. "Spooky" and "Moondance".Rondi has chosen a different path than most passionate performing songwriters in that she teaches elementary music ifull time as a career instead of touring to provide a stable home life for her and her two children. Being a music educator for many years she is also recognized for her contributions in this area of music as well."The Journal" CD release/party/performance is planned to happen at "The Season's" in Yakima which is a premier jazz performance venue graced by many national jazz and classical artists. Sounds Like: Reviews and QuotesEvor.com review by Bill Carrera:It has been said on many different occasions by far more scholarly a person than I that music works to move the soul, fill the heart, and stir the emotions. When you find such an artist or artists that has that special talent to touch all three then it is important to include them in your musical listening agenda. I know we all have that song, the one that triggers a special feeling or memory, Listening to (her) offering “Cache”, so many feelings come to the surface”….”Painfully, Beautifully Rich” the first song on the Cache disc, jumps right into a wonderful trip that will last for the next 11 songs. “If you haven’t had a chance to listen to (her) and you might be looking for a reference voice, think of Ann Wilson, less edgy, but with more feeling behind the delivery. I use the Heart lead singer mainly because I thnk she is one of the best female rock singers out there. (Rondi) has been described as one of the best female rock singers out there. After listening to her I find myself not arguing that point very hard. The disc is a good liten the first time you give it a spin, but it gets better the more you listen, a relaxing experience.Central Washington Entertainment news: Editor: Tim Anderson “Her new release....is a stunning collection of music that brings to mind the voices of Alannis Morrisette, Joni Mitchell, Ricky Lee Jones, etc., and songs that reflect the many journeys this very talented performer has taken. Don’t miss her!"Yakima Herald Republic: Maisy Fernandez: writer “A feisty but amicible firecracker with a contagious smile,(she) seems to bring positive from the negative in her songs. But one thing’s for sure: Her music makes listeners think"Starpolish.com: Robert Doerschuk, music critic/journalist says, "(she) writes memorable tunes and delivers them with vivid yet well modulated emotion....commercial yet genuine, polished and powerfully expressive. (she) is a major-league talent. Her students are lucky to learn from her."Ev:Or.com: Founder, Charl..e Harrelson. "(Rondi), the finest female vocalist in the world (no joke). We actually have a number of great artists in our talent pool, (she) is truly the voice of the angels."Webentertainmentawards.com: “Amber Sunset” (track 3) selected as ‘song of the week”. “(she) blends lush vocals with rich lyics and memorable music.
