My name is Neil Mellor I have progressed through the ranks at Liverpool and broke into the first team during the 2002/03 season. I made my debut in the Reds' Worthington Cup tie with Ipswich Town in December 2002, and went on to score my first senior goal for Liverpool in the same competition at Sheffield United's Bramall Lane a month later. However when I was finally starting to make a name for myself at Liverpool I was forced to sit out half the season. Last season was the same: I was loaned to Wigan, and scored on my debut against Arsenal but then faded away as injury cut my season short. With Liverpool bringing in strikers in the transfer window, it once again pushed me down the pecking order. I finally decided it was time to move on. As soon as Preston came in for me I knew wear I wanted to be.At Preston I am joining an ambitious club that is slowly building a reputation for attractive football and a squad full of talent. If I can fully recover from the injuries that have kept me out for the majority of the past two seasons. I am sure I can go on to achive great things at Preston.
