About Me

Bulgaria has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest twice, in 2005. This is due to the country only joining the European Broadcasting Union, which countries must be part of in order to compete in Eurovision, in late 2004. Bulgaria made their second appearance in Eurovision in the 2006 contest, competing in the semi-final after the jazz-inspired band Kaffe failed to make it past the semi-final stage in 2005.
Bulgaria's worst placing was in Kiev, Ukraine on May 19th, 2005, when Kaffe placed 19th in the semi-final with their song "Lorraine".
Bulgaria's best placing was in Athens, Greece on May 20th, 2006, when Mariana Popova placed 12th in the semi-final with her song "Let Me Cry".
