I can't save you all. Many of you will have to learn the hard way and make your own mistakes. That's life. My only hope for you is that you find god's grace in those mistakes, and search your soul for the path you lost along the way. It's time to face reality. There are people all over the world dying from AIDS.. STDS .. horrible diseases.. Rape Victims .. Innocent children.. believing it could never happen to you is not only naive, it's setting you up for exposure to life's real hardships.
double standards have always been around, and they've always been the same. Guys get glory, girls get called names. So, why, as women do we still think it's ok to sleep around and expect a different outcome? Are we so determined to beat men at their own game before we realize we arent reaping any benefits but instead, a degrading reputation and future regrets? Have we lost sight of our self respect and dignity? Are our moral choices simply as basic as a grey area of right and wrong? Perhaps it is the feeling of temporary false control we gain when we let go and surrender to the pleasures of sex with no intentions of a real connection beyond that of this moment. Why are we so gullable , so blind, to miss the loss of sour soul that slips away each time we do this.. How can we surrender to the cheap temptations without any sense of guilt or degraded self worth? Our bodies are our temple yet we tan them to leather, fill them with toxins, and treat them like last weeks news .. and yet we wonder how cancer, and bad health happen to "me" ?! It's sad when we realize how our most basic instincts and common sense are so easily impaired by societys expectations. To be sexy, tan, envied, popular, and good in bed.. What about being humble, grateful, ginuwine, loyal, smart and ambitious? Women wonder why there's never been a female president or why we get paid less in our jobs than men? Is it possible we've brung it upon ourselves and really have no one to blame but our generation? we all want to find true love, and happiness. But isnt it better to be single than to be with the wrong person? So why do we take ourselves for granted? When you sleep with someone because you were "drunk" or you lose your inhibitions and "forget" to use a condom, you are giving that person control of your life.. your future.. and potentially your death. It only takes one person, one time.. to beat you at the game of life. Is it easier to face multiple doctor visits, sleepless nights, uncertainty, anxiety, embarrassment, or depression.. OR the clerk at the counter who rings out your condoms.. THink about it.. I've made my share of mistakes, and it makes me sick when i see so many girls sleeping around for a joyride. If sex means that much to you, what the hell, go for it. But when you find that one person who makes you see that S E X is more than a three letter word and more about your heart.. you will look back and have an epiphany. A sudden realization that you were worth more than you gave yourself credit for. Bad things happen to good people. It's inevitable we will all face tragedy , sadness, and unexpected hardships.. nothing in life is guarunteed, but the choices you make today, create your tomorows. The sun will rise, and the world will turn.. whether were in it or not. be someone who earned their place in it and left something behind. excel at your talents and strengthen your weaknesses. love yourself before you love someone else . and be a person to be proud of.
