Frank

Frank Pilato was born in Florence, Italy. He started playing the guitar when he was 12, under the teacher Benedetto Miniati's (Pasquale Bona's disciple) guidance. At 15 he studied with Michael Mellner & Giacomo Castellano. At 20 he recorded a piece called "united gates", where the symphony orchestra's conductor Leonardo Rossi worked for. Then he studied with Gianluca Russo ( Brett Garsed ). Successively, looking for different approaches to the instrument, he became a Alex Stornello's ( Allan Holdsworth, Frank Gambale, MMI) disciple. He is graduating in composition and he's preparing as external student the exams for the conservatory of music of Florence Luigi Cherubini. He is Graduate ( BMG casa ricordi Graduation ) on sound engineer. His influences range over rock, funk, blues, classical music and jazz. Now he is a teacher ( Accademia Il Trillo ) and session player. Now in Collaboration with Samuele Cangi ( Papadia, Dirotta su cuba). He Collaborated also with Miranda, Isabella Foster & PassoGigante. He is still studyng also MEDICINE & CHIRURGY( ODONTOIATRY specialized ). On March he will fly for one year on MUSICIAN INSTITUTE (Los Angeles - Hollywood -).
